Description
This probe is a special development for leak detection in underground tanks or pipelines and is used together with the XRS 9012.
To prevent the hydrogen from immediately escaping upon reaching the surface due to its high volatility, the probe draws the gas directly from the soil or floor covering. This makes it possible to precisely locate even the smallest leaks in pipes or containers without having to expose them by drilling or excavation.
The equipment of the ground probe XRS 8612 includes a vacuum pump with two operating speeds. The hydrogen sensor used is identical to the sensor of the XRS 9012. The installation of this sensor results in the detected gas being reported faster than would be possible by supplying the gas via a hose to the leak detector.
The reliable battery of the XRS 9012 is also used in the ground probe XRS 8612. An LED indicates when the battery needs to be charged. The battery can be recharged unlimited times and for long durations.
To prevent water from being sucked into the probe, the ground probe XRS 8612 is equipped with a dust filter and an overflow valve. An LED indicates when the overflow valve is closed. The valve can be reset to operational readiness by simply pressing a button.
